Used it to make great waffles once I realized that the best temperature setting is medium and that an overflowing 1/4 cup/60 mL scoop rather than a precise scoop is needed. The instruction manual only states that the temperature has to be adjusted to the food item prepared, but does not specifically suggest temperature settings to try to use. I suspect a low temperature will be needed for pancakes. I still prefer a waffle maker that I had to leave behind in the US when moving here due to voltage differences. It made somewhat thicker waffles. Yet, it was more difficult to use and clean. It also does not make pancakes - although a machine is not needed for making pancakes unless one is a stickler about all pancakes being the same size and thickness.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for waffles, not so good for pancakes I have used this 3 times since it arrived just over a week ago. It’s great for waffles and I love that the plates can be removed and put in the dishwasher. The only issue for me is that the plates for making pancakes are so shallow that the pancakes can only be about 3/4mm thick, so you need to make loads of them. I would have been great if it made the thicker American style pancakes.
