Welsh Honey & Oat Tart
12
A traditional Welsh honey tart made with wholesome oats and rich local honey. This easy homemade dessert combines sweet, nutty flavours with a crisp pastry base, making it perfect for afternoon tea or a comforting family treat.
Ingredients
For the base:
- 300g oat biscuits, crushed
- 60g unsalted butter, melted
For the tart:
- 90g Welsh honey
- 2 lemons (150ml juice & zest)
- 397g Carnation Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 125ml single cream
- 4 medium eggs
You will also need:
- 25cm tart tin
Preparation
- Mix the crushed biscuit and the melted butter together then press the mixture into the base and sides of the tart tin. Pop in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes until firm.
- Add the honey, lemon zest and juice, condensed milk, cream and eggs to a bowl and whisk gently until combined.
- Lay a strip of parchment paper at the bottom of the Cuisinart ClearView™ Air Fryer and set the tart tin securely on top before pouring in the mix. Select the ‘Bake’ function and bake at 140°C for 25 minutes (check at around the 22 minute mark). You want the edges to look set and the middle to have a slight jelly wobble.
- Slide the draw open 2-3cm and leave for 10 minutes to cool. Remove using the parchment paper strip and once room temperature, pop in the fridge until fully set. When ready to serve, cut into pieces and enjoy.
