Pesto is a tasty sauce or dip, made from fresh basil, garlic and pine nut. It pairs perfectly with pasta, chicken, fish and salads and is super simple to make.


  • 40g fresh basil
  • 125ml olive oil
  • 30g pine nuts, lightly toasted
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Sea salt
  • 50g parmesan, grated


  1. Place the basil leaves, olive oil, pine nuts, garlic and salt into the bowl of your food processor. Process until you have a rough paste.
  2. Add the parmesan and pulse, until the mixture is well blended, but still has some texture.
  3. If not using straight away, transfer the pesto to an airtight container and drizzle a little more olive oil on top.

Note: The pesto will keep in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for up to a month.
