Homemade Chinese Five Spice
This fragrant chinese five spice blend adds a warm, complex flavour to both savory and sweet dishes. Try using it as a marinade or rub for meats & poultry, or add to stir fries for depth of flavour.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp star anise
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
- 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 cinnamon stick
Preparation
1. Toast the star anise, fennel, cloves, peppercorns, and cinnamon for 2 minutes.
2. Grind the spices in the Cuisinart Spice Grinder to a fine powder.
3. Store in an airtight container.
